Good skincare is super expensive, but sometimes the universe blesses you with an affordable go-to.
Better skin = less makeup! Who doesn’t want to feel more confident in their real skin? We all do, I think. However, great skincare has come at a GREAT cost, with few exceptions. For me at least. So far, the most affordable skincare line I have come to love is The Ordinary (review on my faves here). So when I came across this Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic, a drugstore exofilating toner that ACTUALLY did what it claims to do… I was stoked that I was no longer confined to my usual that costs twice as much. Keep scrolling for all the details on how it dramatically improved my skin.
The Magic Exfoliator You Came Here For
I first heard about Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic from YouTuber and Beauty Influencer, Alissa Ashley. First of all, if you haven’t subscribed to her channel, followed her on Instagram and Twitter, you are totally missing out on some SOLID beauty hacks and tuts. Anyway, she’d continuously rave about this drugstore product on her IG, and YouTube videos enough to make this pink bottle of tonic more noticable when I’d walk down the beauty aisles at Target. One day, I finally gave in. I bought a tiny travel sized bottle to take with me on a weekend trip to L.A., instead of bringing my full-sized ‘Solution‘ exfoliator from Glossier. No shade, ya’ll. The rest, as they say… Is history.
Everything I Love About Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic
Ahh, where do I start? There are SO many benefits to Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic, many of which I was not expecting to be as AMAZING. I love skin exfoliation, as it removes dead skin cells on the top layer of the skin, leaving a beautiful glowing canvas ready to take on the world. But for a $15 product… I wasn’t expecting Glow Tonic to be this DAMN good. Here are my favorite benefits I’ve seen from using it during the summer:
- Fewer clogged pores
- Softer, brighter looking skin
- Less dry patches (almost non-existent actually)
- Fewer breakouts
- More even skintone
I mean, that’s a hell of a lot of improvements, but I am serious — this is my new HOLY grail for skin exfoliation. I’m sure there are many other exfoliators out there that are equally amazing, maybe even more effective, but for the price and availibility, you just can’t beat it. Oh, it also doesn’t have a horrible smell. Big plus!
Nothing is perfect. So of course I have to keep it real and callout my only complaint about this product — its size. Yep. It really only comes in 2 sizes available in store (at Target), the largest in-store being 3.4 oz, and the travel/trial size being 15 ml. I go through this stuff fast. There IS a larger size but it’s only available online. I’m being spoiled right now, but I hate waiting for urgently needed skincare to come in the mail. If the larger size WAS available at Target… I’d have no complaints.
Have you tried this exfoliating toner? What is your current skincare product you can’t live without?
